American Baptist Churches of the Great Rivers Region (GRR) is a resource for challenging, empowering, assisting, and representing the American Baptist faith communities in Illinois (excluding Cook, DuPage and Lake counties) and Missouri as we live out our ministry together. There are 50,000 members in over 200 diverse congregations representing many ethnic backgrounds. Their goal is to promote the kingdom of God.
Vision: Healthy congregations engaged in effective Christian ministry locally and globally.
Purpose: To challenge, assist, represent and empower American Baptist congregations in Illinois and Missouri.
Themes: To cultivate passion for mission both locally and globally; to create a learning and resource network of GRR churches and pastors; to recruit and retain competent, qualified pastoral leadership for GRR churches; and to deliver core services with partnership, quality, innovation, communication, and accountability.
